Facing the Fleet and its Future

The Navy remains devoted to reaching a fleet of 355 ships—but of what type, and by when? Leaders remain concerned about their ability to define and reach those goals, even as China’s own navy grows in numbers and capability. In this session, Defense One will talk to Navy leaders about the current pressures on America's shipbuilders and shipyards. They will examine matters surrounding the size of the fleet as well as the challenges associated with shipbuilding, budget, and procurement.
